Pediatrics

Welcome to Horizon Hospital. We are emerging as one of the Best Pediatric Hospital in central India with an experienced team of doctors who specializes in Pediatric healthcare services.

Now let’s elaborate on the department of pediatrics and its usage.

What is pediatrics?

Pediatrics is a medical specialty dedicated to children, from intrauterine life (linked to obstetrics) to the end of adolescence.

By taking an interest in food, and following the growth and evolution of the child, pediatrics plays an important role in prevention, detection, and endeavors to diagnose and treat pathologies that can affect his health.

Today, the pediatrician, who often works in a network with other health professionals, education, and social workers, has proved himself as a key player in its development.

What does a pediatrician do?

General practitioner of the child, the pediatrician watches over the child’s health, the good progress of his growth and his development, physical and mental.

Privileged contact for parents, he advises them on nutrition, sleep, and hygiene and accident prevention.

He is also responsible for the early detection of certain pathologies and monitoring of vaccination.

If the child has symptoms of illness, he asks if possible about his condition, performs a clinical examination, and prescribes additional examinations (blood, urine tests, ultrasounds, etc.), to determine the treatment adapted to the clinical context and his age.

We at Horizon Hospital have established a network of pediatric specialists and provide the best.

We are committed to easing the apprehensions of children and their parents while providing the best care and support essential to make their visit as comfortable as possible.

Most pediatricians provide at least one of the following types of care:

Providing primary care:

Primary care refers to the daily work of helping sick children recover and preventing healthy children from becoming sick.

To do this, pediatricians do physical exams, diagnose and treat problems, offer information and advice, and administer vaccines.

Pediatricians make sure children reach the milestones of their development, let them grow and develop as they should.

If a problem arises, a pediatrician may decide that the child should be seen by another health professional to receive more specialized care.

The role of the front-line pediatrician may change depending on their workplace. For example, in Alberta, pediatricians do not give a routine vaccine.

We aim to offer a caring and compassionate environment for your child.

Perform examinations, diagnose and treat acute or chronic illnesses:

Many pediatricians care for children with complex medical needs.

These can be long-term disabilities or conditions such as diabetes, cystic fibrosis, asthma, or mental health issues.

Health promotion:

To help children stay healthy, pediatricians advice on subjects like injury prevention, diet, physical activity, and behavior.

They do this in their offices, through the media and with other health care professionals, the public, and governments.

Documenting and Evaluating Therapeutic Measures:

Research by pediatricians contributes to new ways of treating health problems in babies, children, and adolescents.

Pediatricians also assess how to care for children and adolescents to ensure that the treatments selected are the ones that work best.

Working with other professionals:

Pediatricians work with other professionals who care for children, including social workers, teachers, and psychologists.

Advocating for Children and Youth:

Pediatricians speak to the community and parent groups, write opinion pieces in the media, are active in social media, and advise politicians to take action.

Informed conclusions to improve health services for children.

We strive for the best class medical services, surgical services, and immunization.

The department of pediatrics at our Hospital caters to the best of pediatric intensive care doctors and pediatric care nurses who work 24/7 as a team to provide safe and high-quality medical care for children and adolescents.

When to consult a pediatrician?

In early childhood, where rapid growth weakens the body, consultations with the pediatrician, reimbursed by social security, meet a mandatory schedule: monthly up to 6 months, quarterly up to 1 year, three times a year up to 2 years, twice a year up to 6 years.

The pediatrician then measures the child's size and weight, checks his motor and sensory development, vision and hearing, and proceeds to vaccination.

In all cases, if the child manifests disorders or signs of illness, infantile or otherwise, do not hesitate to consult: the pediatrician provides care, even if it means referring to other specialists depending on the organ concerned if he deems it necessary.

For pediatric emergencies, a consultation may be justified in the event of significant fever, with signs of convulsions, significant unexplained pain, symptoms of respiratory disorders (bronchiolitis in the baby, persistent asthma attacks, etc.), persistent diarrhea, and vomiting, etc.

Depending on their severity, falls, burns or bruises also require a consultation in pediatric emergencies.

How does pediatrics differ from the adult medication?

Pediatrics differs from adult medication in more ways than one.

The smaller body of a minor or a newborn or child is essentially physiologically different from that of an adult. So treating children is not like treating a miniature adult.

Congenital anomalies, degree of genetic freedom, and developmental issues are of greater concern to pediatricians than doctors treating adults.

Also, there are several legal themes in pediatrics. Children are minors and, in most jurisdictions, cannot make decisions for themselves.

The problems of guardianship, secrecy, permissible liability, and informed consent are considered in each pediatric procedure.

However, we put forward extraordinary dedication, skill, and expertise to take care of your child’s physical, emotional, social, and psychological development.

Inpatient, as well as outpatient clinical services, is offered to enhance the lives of children along with their families.

The pediatrician intervenes for a sick AND healthy child

During a consultation, 8 days after the birth of the child, the pediatrician will weigh and measure him, examine his skin, assess his hearing and his vision, check his tone as well as the proper functioning of his heart and his lungs.

The pediatrician answers, advice, and reassures the parents.

Up to the child's 6 years, regular consultations from the pediatrician, will monitor psychomotor development, and ensure that the necessary vaccines have been carried out in good time.

Each meeting is an opportunity to expose the possible problems encountered with his child, but also to discuss the important stages of his growth: food diversification, language learning, adaptation to life in community, etc.

Throughout childhood and adolescence, the pediatrician gets involved with the child and the parents to prevent and treat childhood pathologies, to detect possible physical or psychological disorders.

During each visit, he notes in the child's health book all the information concerning him.

Over the years, the pediatrician builds close bonds of trust with the child and his parents.

The pediatrician, therefore, plays a special and very privileged role with families. His exclusive practice in the service of child health allows him to quickly detect and take care of sometimes serious situations or, on the contrary, to play down certain benign situations which, sometimes, worry parents.

His initial training, his daily experience, but also his continuing education makes him a health specialist focused on the child: the pediatrician practices the same gestures as a general practitioner, but by adapting them to the child.

We also provide the best comprehensive care starting from preventive care to guidance for life skills for infants and children.

While offering services to children with various medical conditions, we take a multi?disciplinary approach assisted by a team of pediatricians, pediatric surgeons, pediatric nurses, nutritionists, and other subspecialty consultants.
